PANDEMIC SERVICES ENDING

From 31 July those classed as “clinically extremely vulnerable” are being advised that they no longer have to shield. Government provided food boxes and medicine deliveries will also end. If you’re concerned about how you or someone you know will cope, then please contact the Essex Wellbeing Service. We can connect you with a trained volunteer who can assist with everyday tasks.

As you are all aware the current COVID-19 poses one of the greatest challenges that society has faced in recent times, and we have all had to make changes to our daily lives to ensure that we work together to protect the most vulnerable members of society.  At the Practice we have had to make a number of responsive changes following recent developments to ensure the maximum safety of our patients, and to protect our staff as much as possible to ensure that the NHS can keep working in an effective manner and can continue to provide the best level of care possible.

As such, during the current period of emergency measures many routine services will be subject to short notice change and many administrative tasks will be streamlined to ensure that we focus more of our time and resources on the delivery of care to those that need it the most.

Please bear with the staff at this time we are working hard to keep the practice open and some processes due to high demand may take a little longer.

WE ALSO WOULD LIKE TO THANK

If you are aged 70 years and above or if you are eligible for the flu jab, you may have an increased risk of severe illness if you get COVID-19 (from coronavirus). You are being written to because we believe that either you or the named person for whom you care is in this category.

The recommended advice is for you is to stay at home, going out only to obtain essential supplies and once daily for exercise.  The only exception to this is if you are a key worker and you cannot work from home.

NEEDING SUPPORT???

If you are 70 or older or have pre-existing health conditions that mean you are eligible for flu jabs then you could be at a higher risk of serious complications from coronavirus. You should follow Government advice and stay at home. Please arrange for family, neighbours and friends or local community groups to deliver the food and medicines you need. If you do not have this support available please register with the Essex Welfare Service at www.essexwelfareservice.org.uk/support-request or call 0300 303 9998.

Essex Welfare Services
