When We Are Closedtelephone_brown

When the Surgery is closed and you dial our telephone number 01621 782054 you will asked to hang-up and re-dial 111 to be connected to the out-of-hours service (provided by NHS Mid Essex).  If it is a life-threatening emergency, please dial 999.

The nearest Accident & Emergency Hospital is at:

Broomfield Hospital, Court Road, Broomfield, Chelmsford, Essex  CM1 7ET.
Telephone: 01245 443673

The NHS comes under pressure all year round, especially A&E departments. We want all patients who go to A&E with serious illnesses or injuries to be seen and treated as quickly as possible. With your help we can achieve this. Think. Do you really need to go to A&E?

Alternatively you can access medical assistance by calling 111. A triage nurse will assess your situation and take appropriate action. This could simply be by offering advice or where necessary by making arrangements for you to be seen by a doctor.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999.  Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
